endocrinology hospital Kerala
Endocrinology The department of endocrinology offers diagnostic, medical, and consultative services for patients suffering from various kinds of endocrine disorders.

Endocrinology

The Endocrinology department at BMH is dedicated to providing medical care for all endocrine disorders related to thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal glands etc. The endocrine system produces hormones. Hormones help the body regulate nearly all functions such as heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, fluid & electrolyte balance, blood glucose, femaleness or maleness, and weight control. If the hormone levels are too high or too low, it may be a hormone disorder. Most of these disturbances occur when the gland gets enlarged or there is a mass lesion (swelling) in these glands which disturbs the hormones or if there is a cancerous growth in these glands. The highly qualified team of physicians at BMH offer consultative, diagnostic and therapeutic services to treat hormonal diseases such as diabetes, thyroid disorders, obesity, growth and pubertal abnormalities in children, osteoporosis, pituitary disorders, erectile dysfunction, hypogonadism, menstrual disorders and infertility, and provide hormone replacement therapy.

The centre has an advanced hormone analysis laboratory and uses sophisticated techniques like nuclear imaging scan, pedopodogram, biothesiometer and vascular Doppler. BMH has dedicated clinics for major endocrine diseases and provides a wide spectrum of treatment for these complications and their symptoms for both children and adults.

The department provides efficient support services to other specialities by attending to cross-referrals.
