Abstract

Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common behaviour disorders in children, characterized by developmentally inappropriate levels of inattention and/or hyperactivity/impulsivity. These core symptoms lead to significant impairment at home and school contexts. Evidence-based treatments for ADHD include behavioural interventions such as behaviour therapy and parent training programmes. Parent training in child behaviour management has greatest research support. Early behavioural interventions are necessary for best outcome.
