Abstract

A case of the bifid rib was found during a routine chest X-ray. The distal part of multiple ribs is bifurcated into two divisions with an angle of 60°. Both divisions had their costal cartilage. Bifid rib otherwise known by the name bifurcated rib is a congenital abnormality of the rib cage and is usually asymptomatic, often discovered incidentally on chest X-ray.
