Before your admission
Registration and Admission
All patients registered with the hospital are issued with registration cards bearing an UHID Number (Unique Hospital ID). The UHID is used for identifying the patient and medical records across the hospital to ensure continuity of care. So, the patents are required to wear the band with the name and UHID at all time while in the hospital. If you are visiting BMH for the first time, please provide complete and accurate information at the time of registration/admission to ensure that the hospital records/bills show the correct name and communications are send to the correct contact number. If you wish to make corrections to the registration/contact details please request the IP CREs/Ward secretaries with required document proof. We are required to maintain identity and address proof of our guests to produce before the authorities if required. Please produce Aadhar, Voter’s ID, PAN Card, Driving License, Passport) at the time of admission or within 24 hours to admission.

After your admission
Room Allotment
Once a patient is admitted, the room is allotted based on the patient's choice and nature of illness. Only two bystanders are permitted to stay with a patient. When the patient is in ICU, the bystander has the choice to retain the original room or vacate. If retained, the rent for the same will also be charged separately.
IP CREs
Every in-patient is tagged with a Customer Relations Executive to take care of their comfort from admission till discharge. The respective IP CRE shall contact you and present you with her contact details. Feel free to speak to her for all your administrative work including payments, assistance and any other special needs
Calling Your Nurse
All rooms, except in the Intensive Care Units, are equipped with an intercom system/Nurse Call System. Patient bathrooms are also equipped with an emergency call system. You would have received instructions regarding their use in the wards. Use grab bars or get assistance from others while visiting the washrooms.
During the Night
Please stay in bed after you have been prepared for the night. Strange surroundings and sleeping medications may create a hazard if you get out of bed. For assistance during the night, use your Nurses Call System/intercom system.
Dietary Service
We recognise that food and nutrition play a very important role in your recovery. To serve you better, we have provided a Dietary Service which is responsible for fresh meal preparation and its delivery to your bedside. This service gives you greater control over what and when you eat.
Your Doctor/Dietitian may prescribe a special diet for you while you are in the hospital. Food order takers will visit your room to take orders in the evenings. You may also contact extn: 8603/8604 to place an order at any time between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
HOSPITAL VISITING HOURS
The visiting hours for general, medical and surgical wards are from 4PM – 7 PM
Please note that specific units may have different visiting hours. If you need additional information, please check with the nurse in the ward.

Guidelines for Visitors
We know visitors can be “good medicine” for patients. Family members and friends are welcome to visit you; however, patient care is our primary concern. We request that you follow these guidelines established to maintain a peaceful, healing environment for our patients:
- 2 Visitor passes have been provided to you at the time of admission which have to be carried by the bystanders at all times within the hospital during the course of admission.
- You are expected to handover these visitor passes during the settlement of final bill, failing which you are liable to be charged for the same.
- Visitors may be asked to leave the room when the doctor or nurse needs to see the patient.
- Not more than two visitors should be in the patient's room at one time.
- Visits should be kept short.
- To maintain a quiet environment, visitors should avoid creating unnecessary noise.
- People with colds, sore throats or any contagious diseases should not visit patients.
- Avoid bringing children below 12 years as visitors.
- Avoid sitting on the patient's bed.
- Visitors should enquire before giving gifts of food or beverages since many patients have special or restricted diets.
- Plants and flowers are not permitted in the critical care units.
- In order to protect confidential patient information and privacy rights of hospital staff, patients and visitors, use of recording devices such as cameras (including cell phone cameras), video recorders, audio recorders or any other type of equipment used to capture or record images and/or sound is not permitted
