General Surgery department at BMH covers all aspects of surgery that affect the body, and life-saving procedures The General Surgeons work in close collaboration with other specialists to deliver timely surgical intervention and prevent complex conditions. Dr. Suresh is highly experienced and renowned in Vascular and Laparoscopic Surgery. 4 decades of career in surgical field had given him comprehensive experience in all surgical procedures, whether emergency or elective. He has strong focus on Laparoscopic Procedures and Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy/Lap hernia repair and also Surgical Management of Emergency cases. He is an expert in treating post-surgical complications.

Dr. Suresh’s expertise includes Gastro Intestinal Surgery including Onco Surgeries, Thyroid Surgeries, Breast Surgeries, Varicose veins including Sclerotherapy, Ultrasound guided sclerotherapy, Endovenous Laser Treatment, Open Varicose vein surgery and Open Surgery including aneurysms, Carotid artery disease, Bypass surgery for arterial occlusions and Venous diseases.

Dr. Suresh is very active in continuing education and training, and regularly attends national and international conferences and workshops.

  • MS Calicut Medical College -1987.
  • Advanced training for Hernia Surgery under Dr. Arthur Gilbert at Hernia Institute, Florida, U.S.A. in the year of 2003.
  • Training under Dr. Antonio Longo, Italy for advanced colorectal surgical procedures and stapling surgery for Hemorrhoids and prolapse rectum in the year 2007.

Work Experience
Dr. Suresh started his career in 1980, as Faculty at Medical College Hospital, Kozhikode - Department of General & Vascular Surgery. He left Medical College in 1999 as Associate Professor of Surgery to join Baby Memorial Hospital as Head of Department of Surgery & Senior Consultant Surgeon.

Awards
He was awarded for outstanding contribution for HERNIA SURGERY in Kerala in 2005.

Senior Consultant

Dr. Anna Mani is a Senior Consultant Surgeon with more than 20 years of experience in India and Singapore. She is trained in General and Laparoscopic Surgery and is well versed in Laparoscopic appendicectomy, cholecystectomy and umbilical hernia repair. She has rich experience in managing chest and abdominal trauma both in the government and private sector. She also performs open and laser surgery for perianal diseases such as haemorrhoids, fissures, and fistula. She also performs surgery for pilonidal sinus- Limbergflap and SiLaC (Laser surgery for pilonidal sinus) 

 Dr. Anna Mani has a special interest in Breast Surgery and was trained in Modified Radical Mastectomy, Breast Conservation Surgery, and Latissimus Dorsi flap reconstruction in Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, which is one of the premier institutes in breast cancer management in the country. She is also trained in Breast Oncoplasty and strives to give good cosmetic outcome without compromising oncologic principles. With the support of radiologists and pathologist, she is keen on evaluating radiologically suspicious impalpable lesions using Hookwire localised biopsy.
