World Heart Day 2019
Baby Memorial Hospital observed the World Heart Day through different events and programmes.
The theme for this year’s World Heart Day was ‘My Heart, Your Heart’- a reminder for everyone to take care of their own heart health as well as that of others too. The campaign also reinforced everyone to make a promise to stay active, to say no to smoking, and to eat healthily.
The World Heart Day programs started with Dr. Ashokan Nambiar C., HOD and Senior Consultant of our Department of Cardiology flagging off the ‘Heart Doc’ van at C Block premises. The ‘Heart Doc’ van (in collaboration with QK doc.com) with a TV and audio system installed on it travelled across all major centres in and around Kozhikode city and displayed educative videos on heart health and illnesses that affect the heart and displayed leaflets in all those places.
Next in the line was the ‘walkathon’ from Mananchira to Town hall, which was organised by the Corporation of Kozhikode.
The BMH Heart Check Package was offered at a subsidised rate to the public, as part of the World Heart Day celebration.
Besides this, we have organised a health check-up camp at Morikkara ALP School, in collaboration with the Ex Servicemen Association.
