Critical Care

With a team of highly qualified and experienced doctors, nurses and support staff working together, we at BMH are dedicated to the management of critically ill patients. The Critical Care Centre at BMH provides round the clock swift and accurate treatment to patients with life‐threatening situations, including those acutely ill or critically injured. The closed multidisciplinary ICU at the department is the first‐of‐its‐kind in Kerala, manned by a team of intensivists & sophisticated critical care physicians. State‐of‐the‐art equipment and facilities are made available in the ICUs that make the department one of the best in the region. With a wide range of intensive and holistic integrated care, we provide continuous and specialised treatment to critically ill patients. We take an integrated approach while providing critical care to the patients making it possible for them to get the medical attention from experts of different medical departments. Focused and personalised medical attention is given to each patient from initial stages to recovery. The specialised Toxicology & Snake Bite unit at the department ensures immediate medical attention for victims of snake bite and poisoning. The nurses at the Critical Care Centre are well‐trained in BLS and ACLS and have relevant experience in the field. The expert team of ACLS/BLS trained Doctors, Nurses and Ancillary staff provides holistic treatment to patients, with an optimal, evidence‐based approach. The department is a recognised super specialty training centre in Critical Care Medicine.

His qualifications include MBBS from Government Medical College Trivandrum (1992) and MD in Anaesthesiology (DA) from Government Medical College Calicut (2005). IDCCM in Critical Care from KIMS Hospital Trivandrum (2014) and PGDHQM from TISS Mumbai (2021).

His career began as an Anaesthesiologist and Psychiatrist in Kerala Health Services (1998 – 2007), followed by a tenure as an Assistant Professor in Anaesthesiology at Trivandrum Medical College (2007-2014). Since 2014, he have been dedicated to my role as a Senior Consultant in the Department of Critical Care at KIMS Hospital, Trivandrum.
